Liefste Dagboek,
“As I was packing my trunk, the first thing I put in was this diary, then hair
curlers, handkerchiefs, schoolbooks, a comb, old letters; I put in the craziest
things with the idea that we were going into hiding. But I'm not sorry; memories
mean more to me than dresses." Anne
For this iconic piece of history, we will leave the telling to dear Anne, the
young Jewish girl who kept a diary while hiding from the Nazis during World War
II. The setting is a tiny attic above her father’s office in Amsterdam, where
her family lives in cramped quarters, but where Anne’s mind takes flight as she
grapples with her own coming of age amid the increasing horror of the Holocaust.
Our heroine faces her challenges with astonishing honesty, wit and
determination -- and an unwavering belief in justice and love.
